GILAD

By now, many of you have met me personally and introduced me to your residents. I’m honoured to be treated as a part of the family.

With your permission, I’d like to get a little personal.

​

While working on my Bachelor of Music with Honours, I would often visit my grandfather at his retirement home. There, in his room, I’d sing some of his favourite oldies. A caregiver suggested a performance for the whole floor, and I reluctantly agreed. When I saw the incredible impact that my music can have on so many of these seasoned citizens, I was transformed.

So it became a regular thing—for longer than 10 years now—at dozens of retirement communities!

​

Since graduating, I have been a singer with a jazz quintet and a rock band, a songwriter, arranger and vocalist for animated shows and audio books. And, of course, an established performer at assisted living residences, nursing homes, retirement communities and long-term care facilities throughout the GTA and the US.

My unique and eclectic repertoire includes a mix of music genres, comedy, and lotsa dancing.

I tailor my shows to suit the sensibilities of each audience, ensuring that everyone can participate and enjoy the experience. I believe in promoting a sense of connection and community through my shows, and I am dedicated to creating lasting memories for my audience.

My grandfather passed a year ago at the age of 99. I like to believe he’s up there, snapping his fingers and singing along with each of my performances. :-)
